About our Candles & Safety

Are the candles vegan friendly?
Yes! All of our candles are vegan friendly, this includes, the wax, wicks, fragrance and of course, the jar.
What sizes do you offer?
We currently offer 3 different sized candles.
50g, 275g, and 650g candles.
How long should my candle be burning for?
Our candles are long lasting and have a burn cycle of up to 4 hours.
Through our trial and error stages, we came up with some handy tips to ensure your Melt collection candle burns evenly.
50g - Burn for at least 1.5 hours - first use, then minimum of 30 minutes for following uses.
275g - Burn for at least 2 hours - first use, then minimum of 1 hour for following uses.
650g - Burn for at least 3 hours - first use, then minimum of 1 hour for following uses.
Following this guide will allow your candle to burn evenly. Always ensure your candle is on a flat surface.
Why is it important to trim the wick of my candle to 5mm before/after use?
Trimming the wick of your candle will allow it to burn without any black soot and gives it a longer burn time. If you do not trim the wick of your candle, your candle will burn out faster, a large flame will appear and sometimes, smoke will also.
Are the candles handmade?
Yes! Every single one of our candles are handmade with much love and care. Each candle is measured, wicked, poured and polished by us to ensure you get the perfect candle, for the best price.
Why don't your candles have colour?
After months of trial and error, we have decided not to include colour. This is because we use 100% natural soy wax with absolutely no additives. Natural soy wax tends to frost which looks like small, whitish crystals that form on the top of the wax or the sides of the jar. This is a natural process which we can not avoid.
Here at Melt collection, we pride ourselves in creating the most elegant appearing candles but unfortunately the soy wax we use, can not be combined with any colour without this process occurring.
If you have more questions about the process of 'frosting' please contact us at info@meltcollection.com
Why is my candle sweating?
When a candle is exposed to extreme temperature changes, the wax may sweat, particularly when it is hot.
This does not affect the quality of the candle, the way it burns or the scent throw.
Answer?
Simply wipe away the excess oil and burn away!
Do the candles have a use by?
No, our candles do not have a use by however it is best to use your candle within 9 months of ordering.
Because our candles have no additives in them to reduce discolouration, we recommend using your candle as frequently as possible to avoid this.
We advise to finish your candle within a year.
